CITY ON A HILL MEMBERSHIP

It is our desire for you to join us on mission for the glory of Jesus, our joy, and other’s good.

We believe the members of COAH are vitally important, because it is through the church’s members that the bulk of the mission to which God calls COAH is accomplished.

If the Lord is leading you to City on a Hill, we invite you to consider our membership process:

1. Profess personal faith in Jesus Christ and have participated in a believer’s baptism.

 2. Complete “Life on the Hill" Class.

This class is held two times throughout the year. It is a discussion based introduction to what it means to be a disciple and follower of Jesus as revealed in the Bible.  This is the first step in getting connected to City on a Hill. All are welcome to attend, whether you are pursuing formal membership or not.  This is also an opportunity to meet leadership and others at the church as well as learn about opportunities to connect through community groups and serving. Click on the tab above for the next class!

 3. Steward your resources of time, talents, and treasure. This is done through regular financial giving, service, and participation in community.

*Community Groups: A community group is a small group setting where we are intentional about pursuing each other towards being faithful disciples, missionaries, and family.

*Serving our Church: As members of God’s household, we are called to function, participate, and minister in a particular place within the body of Christ.

*Financial Giving: Members should give cheerfully as Jesus exhorts us in 2 Corinthians 9:7 -  "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

You will need to complete our member handout indicating obedience in service, community, and giving. Bring the completed handout to your welcome meeting with a pastor or elder.

 4. Attend a personal welcome meeting with an elder or pastor and sign the membership covenant.

Click here to see the covenant.

As the last step of the membership process, a leader will meet with you to welcome you and to discuss the meaning of membership.  You will review and sign the membership covenant.   This is a great opportunity for the church leadership to answer any questions you may have.

*Annually, members may be asked to check-in and confirm your desire to continue to be a member at City on a Hill Church. We desire that your membership is active and vibrant.

*Non-members of City on a Hill are welcome to share in fellowship, worship, and serve in certain capacities within the church, but are not eligible to serve in positions of church leadership.

For additional information on membership, please see the City on a Hill bylaws.

If you have any questions regarding the membership process, please email Pastor Dan:  dan@cityonahillabq.com.
